Cabo: Off-Roading in the Desert
“Discoveries are often made by not following instructions, by going off the main road, by trying the untried.” – Frank Tyger
Have you ever been off-roading in a desert in a foreign land? Have you ever experienced the exhilaration of speed and bumps while driving through narrow dirt roads through the mountains? I never had. So, when Leann and Brian suggested off-roading in a 4RZR, my curiosity was piqued. Why not?
We booked our excursion through Cactus ATV Tours, which allowed us to have three people in a 4RZR. Brian drove. Leann rode shotgun. I took the back.
Upon check-in, we were offered insurance. When Brian said he wanted it, I knew we would be in for a wild ride. Of course, I was right. Through the desert Brian drove, swerving and going as fast as he could. His moves were sharp, and my stomach danced as if we were riding a very scenic roller coaster. We spied wild horses and other animals wandering about as we zipped along our way. Onto the beach we went, and experienced a new excitement when we drove through the sand. We took a break, and our guide taught us about the various cacti in Cabo.
What a super awesome ride we had! If you have never gone off-roading, I highly recommend it. The experience is like none other. Fast. Furious. And FUN!
