Empire Executive Offices Grand Opening
“The critical ingredient is getting off your butt and doing something. It’s as simple as that. A lot of people have ideas, but there are few who decide to do something about them now. Not tomorrow. Not next week. But today. The true entrepreneur is a doer, not a dreamer.” – Nolan Bushnell, entrepreneur
On October 1st, I attended the grand opening of Empire Executive Offices in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Why? The company was launched by Thomas Fallarino, the husband of my really good friend, Myhanh.
After work, I rushed to the party to see the ribbon cutting. Parking inside the building was easy, and I strolled up to the 17th floor in the 110 Tower. I found my friends, and then explored the office.
What did I discover? I saw a beautiful, classy space with tremendous views of downtown Fort Lauderdale. When I stumbled upon one of the corner offices, I was captivated by the view. For a brief moment, I felt like I was staring into the heart of one of my favorite cities, Manhattan. I became nostalgic, and decided Empire was the perfect name for this place.
The kitchen was beautifully done, as were the conference rooms. I observed guests sipping on cocktails. The crowd was young, hip and professional. I was impressed and thought, ‘what a great place to network while conducting business in an upscale environment.’
Thomas cut the ribbon with a few members of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce. What was once a concept became a reality. Empire was officially open for business, and I felt a sense of pride for my friend.

Fast forward to December…
A few nights ago, I went to Empire’s holiday party which benefited Kids in Distress. The non-profit organization helps to prevent child abuse, preserve the family, and treat children who have been abused or neglected. Guests were asked to donate a new toy to Kids in Distress.
The super attractive crowd had tripled since the grand opening two months ago. There were a lot of professionals from the legal field who were sipping on complimentary cocktails and enjoying hors d’oeuvres, while listening to a live saxophonist. This time I thought, ‘wow, what an amazing turnout for such a new company, especially during the holiday season. I bet a year from now Thomas’ success will be far more than he could have possibly imagined.’
