Dubai: Pierchic, Where the Sun Kisses the Ocean
“It is almost impossible to watch a sunset and not dream.” – Bernard Williams
Restaurants with a view
A few years ago, my friend, Leann, sent me an article, 35 Most Amazing Restaurants With A View. I was able to hit two of these restaurants, Asiate and El Farallon, the following month. Since the view was spectacular at each venue, I decided to dine at the other restaurants, when possible, during my travels. As a result, I stumbled upon Pierchic, #28, in Dubai.
Food allergies
After talking to Elaine, I booked a reservation at Pierchic. When I made the reservation, I was served up a list of different food allergy options to check off. I selected vegetarian for Elaine and gluten-free, dairy-free for myself. The way the restaurant catered to food allergies at the time of booking was super impressive. I love sunsets, especially when they are over the ocean. Thus, I coordinated our reservation with Dubai’s sunset.
Souk shopping
After spending the day at Kite Beach, we returned to our hotel to shower and change. We then grabbed a blue cab from the hotel, and off we went. Next, our cab driver dropped us off outside of Souk Madinat Jumeirah. We wandered through the Souk and checked it out before continuing to Pierchic.
Travel tip: The taxis with blue on top tended to have better rates. They started at 5 AED instead of 12 AED.
The Souk, a traditional shopping market, was bursting with colors and all sorts of treasures. As we continued towards Pierchic, we meandered through a little area of canals, boats, and restaurants, reminiscent of Venice, Italy. As we discovered these little gems, smiles lit up our faces.
Almost there…
We strolled through Jumeirah Al Qasr, a beautiful hotel. Attendants directed us to the area where a buggy picked us up and transported us to the restaurant. We enjoyed a relaxing ride through the grounds, as our eyes soaked up the sites. Our bodies tingled with anticipation, as we neared Pierchic.
Natural beauty
When we arrived at our destination, we were greeted by the sun slowly kissing the ocean as it made its decent. To the right, we had stunning views of the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab, the world’s most luxurious hotel. The magnificence of the moment caused me to catch my breath and stare in wonder.
Pierchic had just opened when we arrived. We were seated by the window, surrounded by the ocean. The windows perfectly framed the sunset and Burj Al Arab, as we dined. Spectacular views danced before our eyes, making me understand why this place is known as the most romantic restaurant in Dubai.
Dinner time
Since I had selected the gluten-free, dairy-free option, my waiter brought me my own special bread and sauces. He made sure to tell me they were lacking these ingredients, and I could see they were different than Elaine’s bread and sauces. Since I was able to avoid the awkwardness of making special, dietary requests, I was impressed.
For my meal, I was torn between one of their mouth-watering sea bass dishes or the Cornish John Dory, a white fish. Since I never tasted John Dory, I decided to try something new. After all, I was abroad, exploring, experimenting with new flavors, and growing.
Five stars, for sure
We both enjoyed our cuisine, the gorgeous views, and the service. All were impeccable, and thus, I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. I loved Pierchic.
Travel tip: Book your reservation at sunset. Go when you can see the sun glistening on the aquamarine water, instead of when you are surrounded by darkness.
We then meandered back through the hotel to catch our next adventure…
