Volunteering JM Family Style
Yesterday, I joined fellow JM Family associates in making a difference in our community. We volunteered at Boca Helping Hands, an organization that serves hot meals and gives grocery bags to those in need. I was familiar with the charity, as I had volunteered there before through the Junior League of Boca Raton. Thus, I already knew of the impact Boca Helping Hands has had in helping to fight hunger.
My “job” was to package bags of groceries for distribution. Some associates prepared lunches, while others served lunch. While we “worked,” JM Family spoiled us. A team of Corporate Philanthropy associates walked around with snacks, drinks, and chopped fruit to keep us going. Even though I left with scratches all over my arms, I left with a sense of pride… A pride in my company for their support of charities and a sense of pride in myself for making a difference.
JM Family provides many opportunities for associates to donate time and/or money within the communities where we do business. I feel very lucky to be part of such a wonderful organization with the philosophy of “Giving Back.”
